Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr Javed Akram inaugurated a gymnasium at the Lahore General Hospital.
On this occasion, Principal Amir-ud-Din Medical College and General Hospital Prof Dr Sardar Zafar Al Farid, Punjab Institute of Neurosciences Executive Director Prof Dr Asif Bashir, faculty members and representatives of YDA were also present.
Health Minister Dr Javed Akram and Principal Dr Sardar Zafar Al Farid checked the quality by exercising on each machine in the gymnasium. The minister said that doctors who take care of patients should also take care of their own health. Common people want to see a healthy doctor. Health is a priceless blessing of God. We should adopt a healthy lifestyle to live a healthy life.
A separate 40-bed Gastroenterology Ward was set up at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) to facilitate patients, as was stated by Principal Post-graduate Medical Institute Professor Dr Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar while talking to the media on Saturday.
He stated that patients suffering from diseases of the stomach, intestines and liver would be provided the best treatment facilities, while the ward would be supervised by Professor Muhammad Akif Dilshad.
The Post Graduate Medical Institute/Lahore General Hospital (PGMI/LGH) Principal Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar has said that the healthcare professionals are providing the best medical facilities to the patients at the Lahore General Hospital. While speaking at a meeting here on Monday, the principal said that, under the policy of the Punjab government and the supervision of Provincial Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram, all resources are being utilised for the welfare of the patients, who are the top priority in this hospital. He informed that during the first 9 months of this year, more than 18 lacs patients were treated in the emergency and outdoor departments of LGH for which patients were treated without any discrimination.
The Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar has said that there is nothing greater than serving the people of Allah Almighty, especially serving the ailing humanity. He added that traders always cooperated with the hospitals to facilitate the patients, for which we pay gratitude to them. He further said that the financial support to the hospitals by philanthropists is a good omen which ultimately helps in increasing the treatment facilities. Prof Al-Fareed expressed these views while speaking at the ceremony of donating high quality cloth worth millions of rupees to Professor of Urology Dr Khizar Hayat Gondal by philanthropists of Anjuman Tajran Bedon Road for the Operation Theatre of Department of Urology, LGH.
The evening shift of the outdoor department in the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) is a blessing for citizens. These views were expressed by International Human Rights Movement Central Chairman Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan during his visit to the OPD, LGH here on Wednesday. He said that a large number of people were benefiting from this facility every day. Citizens who were unable to go outdoors in the morning for their medical issues during the day due to their personal engagements, now they could avail OPD evening shift after leaving their offices, he added. He appreciated the Principal PGMI/AMC/LGH Prof Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar who was striving for welfare of the poor and the sick and said that far-reaching reforms of the principal for further innovation in the medical facilities available at the LGH were unable to be denied.
Doctors's White Coat:begining of serious, difficult journey to serve humanity.
The 5-Day International Gastroenterology Conference-2023 kicked off at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) here on Wednesday and a training Endoscopy Workshop was organized for the awareness and training of the young doctors on the first day. As many as 40 operations were performed free of cost of Endoscopy patients in the workshop whereas more than 200 local and foreign doctors participated in this conference where medical experts directly performed operations of liver, stomach and intestinal diseases in the light of modern research.
Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi, Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Govdernment of the Punjab visited the LGH.
Punjab Government awarded Grade 21 to the senior medical teachers.Principal PGMI/AMC/LGH Prof. Dr. Al-freed Zafar, Prof of Medicine Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab and Executive Director PINS Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood promoted to Grade 21 in their respective posts.
Punjab caretaker Health Minister Dr Javaid Akram has said that the General Hospital Lahore is playing a fundamental role in the service of suffering humanity. He expressed these views during his visit to the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) here on Saturday. He said that Society of Gynecology and Oncology was being registered in the province which would play an important role in ensuring the provision of facilities for cancer patients as well as mothers and children. “We will try our best to provide better health facilities to the people,” he added. He said that the Society of Gynecology and Oncology would be duly registered with SECP.
The administration of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) by taking patient-friendly initiative has introduced helpline number 0337-7803307 to facilitate and to ensure timely treatment of patients coming to the Emergency Department of LGH and prompt resolution of their complaints.
