PGMI–AMCON 2025 | Day 1 Highlights — A Landmark Step Towards Academic & Research Excellence Postgraduate Medical Institute / Ameer-ud-Din Medical College / Lahore General Hospital successfully hosted PGMI–AMCON 2025, a prestigious two-day academic conference held on 17–18 December 2025 at the PINS Auditorium, Lahore General Hospital. The conference was organized around the inspiring theme: “Pursuit of Excellence: Strengthening Research & Medical Education for the Next Generation.” The event was conducted under the visionary leadership and patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Principal PGMI/AMC/LGH. In his message, the Principal underscored the central role of research, critical thinking, and continuous academic innovation in shaping competent clinicians and future healthcare leaders. He also briefly shared that valuable leadership lessons can be learned from nature, citing examples from animals to highlight the importance of courage, discipline, and teamwork in effective leadership. He emphasized that platforms such as PGMI–AMCON are vital for mentorship, collaboration, and the scholarly growth of young doctors and faculty members. Day 1 of the conference was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rashid Latif Khan, whose distinguished academic stature and insightful address enriched the proceedings and inspired participants to integrate research excellence, ethical leadership, and evidence-based practice into clinical care.
