World Anatomy Day 2025 Celebrated at Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, Lahore The Department of Anatomy, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), celebrated World Anatomy Day on 15th October 2025 with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. The event aimed to acknowledge the pivotal role of anatomy as the foundation of all medical sciences and to inspire young medical students to appreciate the structure and marvels of the human body. The celebration commenced with a symbolic walk led by the faculty members and students of the Department of Anatomy, reflecting unity, academic passion, and respect for the science that forms the very basis of medicine. The walk was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, signifying the spirit of teamwork and academic harmony within the department. The event was organized under the able leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Saeed, Head of the Department of Anatomy, and held under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, Principal PGMI/AMC/LGH, who graced the occasion as Patron-in-Chief. Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, Medical Superintendent, Lahore General Hospital, attended the event as Guest of Honour, along with senior faculty members, demonstrators, and a large number of students, making it a vibrant and memorable academic gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal appreciated the efforts of the Department of Anatomy, commending Prof. Dr. Kanwal Saeed and her dedicated team for their continued commitment to excellence in medical education. He stated: “Anatomy is not just the study of the human body — it is the foundation upon which all branches of medicine stand.
