Mother jumps from hospital's second floor post third daughters birth in Lahore

In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded at Lahore General Hospital (LGH), a distressed young mother, Sidra Afzal (22), made a desperate leap from the hospital's second floor, just days after giving birth to her third daughter.

Preliminary investigations into the incident have revealed that Sidra took this extreme step to escape the anticipated "comments or taunts" from her relatives, who were hoping for the birth of a boy.

The tragic incident occurred while Sidra was receiving medical care in the hospital's labor room. She plunged from a window, sustaining critical injuries, and was immediately rushed to the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) in a critical condition.

According to LGH officials, Sidra had initially given birth to her third daughter via a Cesarean section on September 18 at a private hospital in Kasur. Her deteriorating health condition prompted her transfer to LGH for further treatment.
